Corn Starch

A type of flour deriving from corn, corn starch is used as a thickening agent in liquid-based recipes (soups, stews, custard, pudding, …) Using corn starch helps to make a clear, rather than opaque sauces as opposed to using flour.

Mix with a dash of cold water to make a corn starch paste before adding into your sauces to avoid lumps.
